Alarm Response & Lone Worker Chaperone Service
Employers have a legal obligation to ensure the safety of lone workers. Employers must take all reasonable steps to avoid or control risks where necessary.
Many companies are unable to use a key-holding alarm service, but still want to reduce the risks to their employees who are working alone. By utilising Arca’s Chaperone Service a member of the Arca team will attend the alarm call out and accompany the employee ensuring their complete safety at all times.
Directors of the company can be held liable for any out of hours accidents that occur. Our team are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in the event of your alarm being activated or a member of staff being locked out. We would remain with your employee and await an engineer. Where necessary, our officer would also remain with your employee until the arrival of any additional suppliers required to make your premises safe to lock-up.
For further information on the employer’s responsibility for lone workers please see The Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, 1999. The government has
produced a leaflet on good practice for employers to consider for their lone workers, titled “WORKING ALONE IN SAFETY”. This can be viewed at http://news.hse.gov.uk/2009/09/18/working-alone/.
